Maternity photography

Those last few weeks of waiting.

Soft, natural maternity photographs of you, your bump and the people waiting with you — outdoors or in the comfort of your home.

Pregnancy goes by in a blur. A maternity session is a calm hour or so to slow down and celebrate it — with gentle guidance on posing so you feel comfortable and look like yourself.

When to book

Most mums-to-be choose somewhere between 28 and 36 weeks, when the bump is lovely and round but you still feel comfortable. Get in touch early and we’ll pencil in a date.

Where we’ll shoot

A riverside or canal path, a field at golden hour, a favourite park — or somewhere warm and cosy indoors. I’ll suggest places that suit the season.

Who can join

Just you, you and your partner, or the whole family — big brothers and sisters-to-be (and the dog) are always welcome.

Maternity photography in Northampton

A calm, unhurried session for you and your bump

Pregnancy changes so quickly. One week you’re just beginning to show, and before you know it you’re counting down the days. A maternity session is a lovely way to pause for a moment and remember how it really felt — the excitement, the waiting and the closeness with the people around you.

I keep my maternity sessions gentle and relaxed. We’ll take our time, with plenty of breaks, and I’ll guide you into comfortable, natural poses that flatter your bump without ever feeling forced. Many of my sessions take place outdoors around Northampton — riverside paths, quiet parks and open fields at golden hour — but we can just as easily create something soft and cosy indoors.

Partners, children and even the family dog are always welcome. Some of my favourite photographs are the in-between moments: a little hand resting on the bump, a shared laugh, a quiet look between the two of you.

Questions

Things mums-to-be often ask

When is the best time for a maternity session?

Usually somewhere between 28 and 36 weeks. Your bump is beautifully round by then, but you’re still comfortable enough to enjoy a walk and a few different poses. If you’re expecting twins, or you’d simply feel happier earlier, we can plan for around 26–30 weeks.

What should I wear?

Something you feel good in. Flowing dresses look lovely outdoors and move nicely in the breeze, while a fitted top or a simple knit shows off your bump beautifully. Soft, neutral or pastel colours tend to work best and sit well with the surroundings.

If you have a partner or children joining, aim for colours that complement each other rather than matching exactly. I’m always happy to look at a few options with you before the day.

Can my partner and children be in the photos?

Of course. Many families like a mix — some photographs of you on your own, some as a couple and a few with big brothers or sisters-to-be. Children are welcome to join for part of the session and then go off to play.

Where do sessions take place?

Wherever feels right for you. I know plenty of beautiful spots in and around Northampton, from canal paths and parks to open fields, and I’ll suggest places that suit the time of year and the light. If you’d rather stay warm and comfortable, we can plan something indoors instead.

What if I’m not comfortable in front of the camera?

Most people feel exactly the same, and that’s completely fine. I’ll talk you through everything as we go, give you simple, gentle directions and keep things light. By the end of the session most mums-to-be tell me they forgot the camera was there.

What happens if the weather is bad or I’m not feeling well?

We simply move the date. Pregnancy can be unpredictable, so I keep things flexible — your comfort always comes first.

How will I receive my photographs?

Your carefully edited photographs are delivered in a private online gallery, where you can view, download and share them with family. I’ll let you know the expected timing when you book.

Do you speak Polish?

Tak! Mówię po polsku — I’m very happy to chat, plan and photograph your session in Polish.
